Global Pharmaceutical Firm
Project Management Team delivered high review productivity and significant cost-savings
With three major cases in different jurisdictions, Hudson’s pharmaceutical client had a lot at stake as it sought to fend off patent litigation against its popular consumer healthcare products. With three to five reviews running concurrently, the volatility of data collection created a significant challenge in managing resources—and expenses.
Hudson added value at every stage of the process: advising on e-discovery processing and hosting providers; establishing filtering parameters; building all tagging forms from scratch; and educating the firm’s Corporate Intellectual Property (CIP) executives on review best practices.
Hudson used creative problem-solving to keep productivity high, including hard copy reviews and the hiring of onsite healthcare practitioners to provide real-time insights into responsiveness decisions. Bulk tagging alone saved more than $100,000, and further economic value was delivered with Hudson’s assumption of all quality control and privilege log creation.
As with any review of this size (more than 50,000 documents) improving continuity, communication and consistency proved invaluable for effective project management.
